GOVERNOR WILLIAM C SPROUL AND CITY OFFICIALS GREETING THE RETURNING SOLDIERS AT ISLAND PARK SUNDAY AFTERNOON, SEPTEMBER 28TH 1919 ARMY DECORATIONS WERE PRESENTED ON THIS OCCASION BY COLONEL JAMES B KEMPER AND MAJOR FRANK C MAHIN OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY TO MAJOR SAMUEL W FLEMING JR Croix De Guerre CAPTAIN EDWARD J STACKPOLE JR DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS CAPTAIN WILLIAM M MCCREATH Croix De Guerre AND SERGEANT G C SHECKART DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS AND FRENCH METAL MILITAIRE THE CITATION FROM GENERAL JOHN J PERSHING WERE READ BY MAJOR MAHIN SHOWING THE VALOROUS SERVICE OF THOSE DECORATED" ..... It is framed and matted under glass. The photo itself measures 27 3/4" BY 5 1/2" Total measurement is 36 1/2" x By 14 1/4". It does have condition issues from age but overall displays well. This came off of an old farm in Lancaster county Pennsylvania. There is a small hole in the photo as seen in my last picture It looks like something might have popped through the back and tore a little piece of the photo but it still displays well and can go unnoticed. I am selling this item as is as seen but I think this would be a great addition to somebody's historical collection of both military political and early Pennsylvania history.
