Description: Rare circa 1900 women's undergarment, hand-stitched light cream-colored natural silk with handmade lace. Original buttons on the shoulders and on the underside of the bloomers. Lace on the collar, arm openings, and the bloomers. This is a large, loose item. (Estimated size XL) The waist/hip is 46" and the length is 43" from the shoulders to the bloomers' hem (about shin length). It belonged to my great-great-grandmother who lived in the Dutch East Indies from 1859 to 1940. She would have worn this under her clothes. The hand stitching is beautifully finished. The lace has small irregularities that lead me to believe it's also handmade. This item could be worn, but is more suited to historical display. I am willing to donate this item to a museum or historical society. The photos don't do it justice as it's quite beautiful. Hand washed and line dried. Shipped folded. Thanks for stopping by for a look at a bit of my family history!Item #CC
