Description: D24081-4. This beautiful vase is a unique piece of art pottery that showcases a contemporary style. It is artist initialed and dated. I was told it was made by an Indiana artist. The vase is handmade and has horse hair and Raku firing techniques applied to it, giving it a unique and one of a kind rustic appearance. Horse hair raku is a method of decorating pottery through the application of horsehair and other dry carbonaceous material to the heated ware. The burning carbonaceous material creates smoke patterns and carbon trails on the surface of the heated ware that remain as decoration after the ware cools. Measuring 5.25 inches in length, 4 inches in height, and 5.25 inches in width. Item shows some very minor blemishes and crazing as shown in the picture, But I believe these were made during firing of the item. Please look over the pictures and ask any questions prior to purchase.
