Description: The Grand Antique Mall, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, presents an Antique Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland St. Louis (CCC&StL) Railroad Lantern with a Tall Clear Glass Globe, Barrel-Shaped, with the B&O Railroad Logo. The kerosine lantern has hallmarks on the lantern’s top, bottom, globe, and burner. The top lid is embossed "Handlan, St. Louis, U.S.A.” The lantern frame is embossed “CCC ST L”. The burner reads “Handlan A6 Louis MO”. The patent dates appear on the bottom of the fount holder: Patent number 41309, number 122718, 1917, and a set of illegible numbers (see photos). The 6” tall barrel globe is marked B+O R.R. and CNX (trademark for Corning). Original burner with wick. Release lock to remove burner. Three pieces (frame, globe, burner). The Big Four Railroad, commonly abbreviated CCC&StL, was a railroad company that started in 1889. The B&O absorbed the Ohio and St. Missouri Railroads in 1893.
