Description: Selling a “rare” Southwestern “Limited Edition Print” (#13/1,000) signed by artist Lee Herring, entitled “Raiders of the Palo Duro! Print depicts an Indian strategy session in the late summer of 1874 during the “Battle of Palo Duro Canyon.” In this encounter Indian warriors from the Quahada, Comanche, Southern Cheyenne, Arapaho and Kiowa warriors led by “Lone Wolf” left their assigned reservations and sought refuge in Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle. Ultimately, Col. R.S. Mackenzie and his cavalry units/scouts succeeded in overwhelming the tribes and returning them to their Fort Sill Reservation. This was one of the last battles of the Texas-Indian Wars. Print size is 17” x 22” with image size being 14” x 19.” This “rare” over 40 year old limited edition print is in good condition (NO COA available) but may have experienced some fading with age (see pics).
