Description: QUARTZ "Japan Law Twin"San Pedro MineNew Placers Mining District Santa Fe County New Mexico USA Approximate Size: 3.8 x 2.4 x 1.8 cm Weight: 0.5 ounces (14 grams) A cluster Quartz crystals exhibiting the classic Japan Law twinning characteristic. Largest crystal is approximately 0.9 cm across. There is an off-white coating or inclusion along the top edge of many crystal faces. I personally feel it adds some contrast. Luster is fair to good as there is some natural etching to some of the crystal faces. Color ranges from clear to milky. There are a few broken crystals, mainly along the edges. Specimens were collected by my father in 1976. Currently the mine is closed to collecting. Please look at all photos and make note of specimen size (above) before making purchase.
