Appraised as follows: "plateau mount, with serpentine crenellation round the perimeter. Famille Rose, paneled in the center section with pastoral scene of ladies in a dolphin boat." This beautiful piece is a museum quality family heirloom from my grandfather's estate and has been in the family for the last century. Perimeter edge features butterflies, which symbolize romance, love, freedom and beauty and appear with plums, symbol of strength and endurance in China. Butterfly motif on upper surface. Bats, which represent good luck, are represented on all surfaces, with plums and ocean decoration appearing on the base. Primary colors are celadon with pinks and coral on a white ground. Some yellow. Coral bats appear on both upper and lower surfaces. Overall dimension 11" by 8 3/4".Circa: Late 18th to early 19th Century. Provenance: China. This rare Chinesee footed dish is marked with a six-character reign mark of Emperor Jiaqing (1796-1820) 大清嘉慶年製, written in seal script and in columns, right to left.
