Description: In 1644, the Manchus, a semi-nomadic people from northeast of the Great Wall, conquered the crumbling Ming state and established their own Qing (or Pure) dynasty, which lasted nearly 300 years. This cute little bud vase is probably from the latter part of the dynasty 1850-1895. Every part of the bud vase is hand painted with a charming family scene. The marks on the bottom read “Made In The Reign Of Qinglong”. The oval seal on the back is an emperor’s approval mark - both marks are likely apocryphal and were put on this vase as tribute to earlier generations. The vase measures almost 5 inches tall by 2 inches wide. It is in very good condition for its age with just some small chips on the bottom rim.
