Review Quote "This book will be one in a series of conceptual milestones on defenses....Cramer marks the growth of our knowledge about the way defenses develop and work. She updates our understanding of some defenses, their development and functions, and offers various research measures to assess defense mechanisms. In addition, she shows how treatment outcome can be measured in terms of defense maturation....The core of this book is the three decades of careful development research on three defenses, documenting defense development, and change in some clinical populations. This will endure. Our discipline benefits from this authors dedication, thoughtfulness, and care."--International Journal of Psychoanalysis Details ISBN1593852983 Author Phebe Cramer Short Title PROTECTING SELF Pages 384 Publisher Guilford Publications Language English ISBN-10 1593852983 ISBN-13 9781593852986 Media Book Format Hardcover DEWEY 155.2 Illustrations Yes Year 2006 Imprint Guilford Publications Place of Publication New York Country of Publication United States Edition 1st Subtitle Defense Mechanisms in Action DOI 10.1604/9781593852986 UK Release Date 2006-07-06 NZ Release Date 2006-07-06 US Release Date 2006-07-06 Publication Date 2006-07-06 Audience Undergraduate AU Release Date 2006-07-05 We've got this At The Nile, if you're looking for it, we've got it.
