It is a unique variety that has a oval, upright and wide growing habit, and has extra large pads, eventually reaching the size of large dinner plates! Springtime blooms display beautiful large, full, bright yellow flowers! This is the largest variety of opuntia we grow and has been growing completely unprotected for many years in the cold high desert region of central Oregon, zone 6b, repeatedly seeing temps below zero degrees F! These have been planted as far north as Canada surviving temps below -20 degrees F!! Planting instructions are included!
