Pretty Blonde Nanette R&B All Original 1940s Chiffon Party Formal w/ Picture Hat

Description: When I was little my grandmother often referred to certain colors as “sky blue pink”, (she often had nonsense answers to what she considered silly questions). I thought of that when I first saw this Nanette. Her pretty chiffon gown can best be described as sky blue and it is accented with light pink ribbon roses and a large sheer pink picture hat. Her wrists have pleated blue and white frills with ribbon ties. Her gown is worn over a blue satin ruffled slip and matching blue satin panties. Her shoes are blue oilcloth with their original ties and intact soles and heels. This entire all original outfit is in excellent vintage condition, with no stains rips or tears. A pink version of this outfit is pictured on page 108 of the Arranbee Doll reference book by DeMillar and Brevik (2004 ed.) See my last photo. Arranbee called it “Nanette Party Formal” 14” Nanette is in VG+ vintage condition. She was made by Arranbee between 1946 and 1950, when these early hard plastic dolls still had mohair wigs. The only flaw I see is a little wear to the paint at her joints, really pretty minor as can be seen in the photos. Her stringing is good and she can stand and pose without added support. There are no unpleasant odors. Her blonde mohair wig is still silky and full. Her complexion is a rosy tan, her face paint is all there and she has blue gray sleep eyes that open and close smoothly with all lashes present. She is a reminder of the days when people still got gussied up for formal dances and parties. She displays very well and I think would be a lovely addition to any vintage doll collection. * the small print* This is a non-smoking home but since I purchase vintage items, I cannot guarantee that they originally came from smoke-free homes. Also I do have an indoor/outdoor cat. If you are extremely sensitive this may not be the place for you.
