Description: The Craft Brew Folks, partnering with Hidden Hollow Southern Blend, bring you this PREMIUM ORGANIC (no pesticides or growth chemicals) blend of pure brewing grains to make HIGH QUALITY whiskey, bourbon, or moonshine. This kit is designed for making a super strong 5 gallon wash, using grains specifically grown, malted, and kilned for use in brewing. The grain weight in total is 10 pounds. This will get you a superb wash full of sugars for the yeasties to make a potent brew for distilling. Additionally, the same corn mash can be used over again by adding more sugar and yeast to create a fine "sour mash" whiskey. If you are doing a moonshine recipe by adding additional white sugar, our kit will allow you to s t r e t c h the grains and allow you to make two (2) separate 5 gallon batches if desired!!!! We don't add white sugar to our kits- you can't make a true bourbon or whiskey with sugar. THIS IS NOT "SWEET FEED". Buyer beware- many sellers offer "sweet feed" for brewing- "sweet feed" is nothing more than food for stock animals that often contains sulfur compounds, minerals, hormones, antibiotics, salts, and preservatives- NOT good things to be brewing with or drinking. We strongly encourage you to avoid "sweet feed" blends. Our blend has three grains: 80% Organic Lincoln County, Tennessee cracked Corn (8lbs.) 10% Organic Malted Rye (1 lb.) 10% Organic Malted 6-row Barley (1lb.) This is the standard used by notables such as Buffalo Trace, Jim Beam , and our neighbor, Jack Daniel. The grains are milled the day they are ordered/ shipped, and each grain type is packaged individually- not mixed together, so you really can see the quality. Ask other sellers if they package individually, or is it all mixed together- you might be getting Co-Op/ animal feed products!!! Our grains are malted- made specifically for brewing don't need amylase enzyme additives like some of the others products on ebay, because the malting process causes the enzyme to be naturally added by the malted grains when heated. Do you think the old time distillers had amylase enzyme around to make their product? Don't settle for cheap, don't settle for all the nasty by-products in livestock sweet feed. Our grains are always fresh, and are crushed/ milled to the perfect consistency for brewing at the time of your order.. Using all-grain methods will result in a true smooth whiskey (or bourbon if aged in charred oak). However, if you want to make moonshine, all you need is to add white sugar to the grain to make a high alcohol mash. We'll send you instructions for this. We also include 14 grams (in 2 seven gram packs) of our propriety, patent pending distiller's yeast to get fermentation going. You will end up with a great product!
