Description: Vintage Porcelain Moriage Dragonware Demitasse Cup & Saucer Sets 3D effect with hand painted raised decorations (Moriage). Free-form, stylistic dragons. The cups are petite, delicate and lightweight measuring 1 1/2" high by 2" across. They are in very good condition except for one cup that has a chip near the handle, as seen in the last photo. The saucers are also delicate, measuring 3 3/4" in diameter. They do have some paint loss mostly on the raised painted portions. Hard to tell with all the swirling going on.All pieces are marked "Made in Occupied Japan", which dates them somewhere between 1945 and 1952. These are linked to the few years that the U.S. occupied Japan in the immediate post WWII period. They are in terrific condition for being 70 plus years old.P.S. I did not attempt to clean them, they could use some gentle washing.
