This is a well executed example of Ralph Lauren at his best - reintroducing the English Bird Hunting Jacket - a Safari and Hunting jacket with loads of character & special hidden pockets. Perfect for travel. A little history: pockets inside the jacket at the bottom would be used for placing game, such as pheasants or other birds. The large flap pockets on the front were used to hold shotgun shells. It has one epaulette on the left shoulder and a chest epaulette for glasses. The right shoulder has a diamond padding detail to reduce recoil of the shotgun. A small breast pocket on the left front side and six more pockets, three on both sides of the front of the jacket. Six pockets inside the coat with two secret snap close pockets. Four buttons on the front close the jacket and a buttoned tab to secure the corduroy collar around your neck on cold mornings - best time to hunt birds. Two snaps on the sleeves. 100% cotton with a light canvas texture. There are no spots or stains anywhere. It was only worn for one day shoot. Important Note: Keep in mind this jacket is made to look old and worn which is a sign of a good garment - well worn. Thus the fabric die is used to create the aged look or light stone wash. The jacket has never been washed or cleaned. It has been worn once - with no sign of use or wear. It is in exactly the condition it was when new. An excellent travel companion in spring or fall.
