Listed items will not be marked down during the listing duration. Offered here is an unusual item: a heavy steel goblet which celebrates the Dedication of the Kwangyang Steelworks on May 7, 1987. This event featured the Pohang Iron & Steel C,o Ltd. Company, which was apparently consolidating with the Kwangyang Steel Company. This was a coming together of South Korean and Japanese companies. Later the merger took the name of Posco. The event was evidently quite an event, as the goblet offered here is one of an unknown number of giveaways to celebrate this event. The goblet is heavy steel with fine details of notable events. The events all have to do with making steel, and the info is in Japanese. This goblet stands about 6 3/4", and the base diameter is about 2 3/4". The decoration is in bas relief. This goblet does not appear to have been used for drinking any beverage. It was most likely a decorative item kept in a cabinet. There is a company in Germany who makes something like this in pewter, and they call it a champagne flute.
