There is a listing for an August Jansen (1881-1957) but that artist's technique and subject matter differs from this piece in significant ways, and he painted in Estonia. The houses here look like the mellow old wood-framed structures one would find in an American city like Boston or Chicago, and the work looks American. Regardless of authorship the scene is quite beautiful and peaceful and the work exceptionally well painted.
