Description: Such a cool toy! Here is the Star Trek The Next Generation TRANSPORTER by Playmates with box, figure, and catalogs. This Molecular Beam Transportation system (1993) "transports" action figures using authentic operator's console controls, transporter sounds, and a special light-up chamber! When I first tested this, I learned that all three 2.47 Volt light bulbs had burnt out, so I replaced them with new ones, and also filled the bottom compartment with three Size C batteries (which are NOT included to keep the package light and minimize corrosion), and voila: the system works great! Simply turn the right-hand switch from OFF to ON, and work your finger magic on the console as shown in the demo video to "beam in" and "beam out"! Interestingly enough, the included figure for you to "beam" in or out is not from Star Trek but rather from Star Wars: it's the Stormtrooper Commander from Hasbro's Battle Packs Force Unleashed line (2006). This purple-striped Stormtrooper stands 2.5" tall and is situated permanently on a 1.25" x 1.25" base only 1/8" thick. His only articulation is at the neck, so his head can turn sideways. The box shows normal wear and tear (examine pics of all 6 faces of the box carefully for any questions) but still displays beautifully. As a bonus, I'm throwing in 3 Star Trek related catalogs: CD-ROM Direct (16 pages) by Columbia House (1998), and two issues of 800-TREKKER (each 64 pages) by the 24-hour Sci-Fi Collectibles Hotline (1996). Both TREKKER issues are rough from humidity during storage, but still legible and collectible. I actually tried calling the hotline but apparently it now leads to a medical care organization, so it is unlikely you can order from these anymore!
