This unit was completely refurbished, I cleaned the heads, demagnetized them and cleaned the complete tape path and it sounds outstanding. I oiled all moving parts, and cleaned the potentiometers to make it maintenance free. I Recorded a tape on it, PLAYED it back, used FF and RW , PAUSE, HI/LO RECORD, PLAY AND RECORD, HIGH/LOW TAPE SPEEDS, RECORD EQUALIZATION, RECORD BIAS SWITCHES and 7"/10.5" REEL SELECT SWITCH and everything works! This unit is now ready for the next descriminating buyer for many more years of reliable service. NOTE: This Pioneer Model also has the Capability of using the 10.5" Reels as well as the 7". This one was the top of the line for the Pioneer Professional Series when introduced. You can listen to hours of music without getting up and changing reels. SOUND IS FANTASTIC !
