Piaget 9154 Protocole Large Size 18k White Gold Roman Numeral Dial Manual Wind

Description: For sale is a very good condition solid 18 karat white gold 25mm by 27.7mm Paget Protocol referece 9154, which was produced sometime between the 1970s and mid 1980s. The Piaget sale is for the watch head only, and is not accompanied by any box or paper. The Protocole features a white gold tapestry textured case, which is accented by a white gold cabochon set crown that was most likely fitted later at a past service. The Piaget features a silverish gray vertically textured tapestry dial with painted black roman numeral hour markers and blued hands. The painted black Roman numerals give the dial a wonderful sense of character, and are strikingly reminiscent of the Roman numerals on the famed “Buckley dials” that are found on Rolex models from the same era. The 9154 uses the manually wound caliber 9P, which was recently serviced and is running flawlessly. Condition: The case has been preserved well with its tapestry finish retaining crisp lines. The dial does contain some minor oxidation on its surface, but has otherwise stood the test of time well. Overall the Piaget is in very good vintage condition, and is a wonderful example of seldomly seen 18 karat white gold Protocole reference 9154.
