Description: One pair of an unusual vintage speaker array, taken from a rare Scott tube stereo console. Each of the two metal brackets holds one Carbonneau 5" speaker (USA), one 5" Philips AD3500M speaker (Holland), and one Peerless MT20 tweeter (Denmark). All drivers have paper cones and alnico magnets. The information I found on the Phillips speaker notes the usable frequency range as 95-19000Hz, making it a nearly full-range speaker. In this design it's apparently supposed to handle most of the midrange, supplemented by the other 5" speaker at the low end and the Peerless tweeter to help with the highest frequencies. These speaker arrays also feature elaborate old-school crossovers that include large copper coils and two 2 mfd oil can capacitors per side. See the photos. As found, the speaker arraya were crossed over to Heppner 15"/Scott SP W152LH alnico woofers to handle the low bass- I sold those years ago, but there are several available on eBay right now, including a pair for a good price. For whatever reason, the Peerless tweeters are not removable from the brackets. This has influenced my decision to sell these as units. I may consider removing the other speakers and crossover parts in order to relist them separately, but for now I'm selling as a package deal.
