Description: Up for bid is this Irish snowflake Ornament or Pendant. From the Book of Kells, knotwork symbolizes eternal life, and this snowflake starts out with six knots atop six Claddaghs. In the very center of the open circle hangs a miniature shamrock with what looks like touches of green enamel. The shamrock, which derives from the Irish word seamrog meaning "summer plant", was used by St. Patrick to demonstrate the meaning of the Trinity. This highly polished silver over pewter ornament measures about 2 1/2" from top of fixed bail to bottom and 2 ¾" across. A wonderful addition to your Christmas tree, it can also be worn as a pendant. It is in very nice condition. Bid today before it is gone. Please check out my other listings for more great Christmas items and more! Thank you!
