The strike is crisp and the lines are sharp. Artist Biography: Peter Graham RA was a Scottish landscape painter. Peter Graham studied portrait painting at the Trustees' Academy Edinburgh under Robert Scott Lauder until 1859. Afterwards, he lived in his hometown for several years and turned to landscape painting at this time. In 1866 he finally moved to London , where he carried out many assignments for Queen Victoria . Since 1877 contender, he became in 1881 full member of the Royal Academy of Arts . Graham preferred the romantic sceneries of the Scottish Highlands, often with Viehstaffage, as well as views of rocky coasts in cloudy, foggy weather. His effective pictures enjoyed great popularity and found many prospective customers; They became more widespread. In his portrayals Graham placed great emphasis on details, and on the grounds of his country house in Buckinghamshire, he even kept some highland cattle, which served him as models. One of his most famous works was the painting " Flood in the Highlands", with which he was represented for the first time at an exhibition of the Royal Academy in 1866.
