Description: Peter and the Princess written by Carl H Grabo. First Edition published in 1920 by The Reilly & Lee CO., Chicago. Illustrations by John R. Neill, illustrator of Wizard of Oz books. Illustrations engraved and printed by The Beck Engraving Company, Philadelphia. Green cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and borders and mounted color illustration to front. Top edges gilt. Wear to corners and spine caps but in fair to good condition. The spine is unattached to the front cover and is loosening at the back cover. A front endpaper and fly leaf(attached to each other) are completely detached from the spine. Owner name written at top of front endpaper with bookplate with gift inscription glued to flyleaf. Blue endpapers feature swans. Full-color frontis and color-illustrated title page. Eight additional colorplates with tissue guards complement the text. Though the list of illustrations has 9 entries, with two related to the story in Chapter 9, the second illustration featuring swans was instead used for the endpapers. Pages of text are clean showing minor wear. Book measures 7 x 9.5 x 1.5 format, 243 pages.
