Description: Here's a fine refinished table top desk from south eastern Pennsylvania, ca. 1830. The primary wood is poplar. It's beautifully constructed with a finely dovetailed case that sits on turned ball feet. A lower drawer and 3 interior drawers are all dovetailed with chamfered bottoms and square cut nails. The brass keyhole escutcheons appear to be original. (I just noticed that in some pictures the upper escutcheon is missing a tack. This will be resolved.) The case measures 17 inches wide X 13.25 inches deep X 12 inches tall at the back. This little slant lid table desk is truly a study in fine construction and a charming accessory item for your country collection.
