Peggy Karr Glass was established in 1987 and was located in New Jersey. In 2016, Peggy decided to retire, her glass was liquidated and the factory closed. Her studio was the premier design of handmade fused glass gift ware. This technique dates back to over 3500 years and was used by the Mesopotamians. Each pattern is hand stenciled to a layer of glass that then has another layer of glass placed over the top of it. The piece is then placed into a mould and fired to a temperature of 1600 degrees which causes all the layers of glass to be fused together. The plate has been signed by Peggy Karr on the bottom right near with what would be the 5 o’clock spot on a clock. It is marked with PKG 04. Similar plates are pictured in the book "Artistry of Peggy Karr Glass" by Peggy Karr. The tray is in like new condition with no chips, cracks or discolorations. The box has some marks in the cardboard. We are a nonsmoking home/shop and there are no odors on this piece. Please check out our other items!
