This recording was self released by Paul through his merchandise company and taken from a cassette he used to record ideas on in the Racer X practice space in Vernon CA in the late eighties. There are no songs, only solos, one right after another as Paul noodles out ideas and works on them. You hear musical ideas that subsequently showed up as riffs or motifs on Racer X albums. We also find out that not only is Paul a better guitar player than you or I are...he's a better drummer as well...he noodles through some pretty impressive drum stuff on one track. Also included is a live solo from 1983 before he had reached a national audience; such a cool thing to hear. This is full on Racer X era style soloing and it is magnificent. If you are a Paul fan you have to own this. You actually forget it was record to a cassette that had to be quite old before it was transferred to digital. Paul in a shredtastic glow will just send a chill down your chillbone and make you want to sell all your guitars. Paul is just a higher being as a guitarist than any of of us mortal guitar hacks.
