Quit illustrating in mid 1970's & began doing western subjects & also doing oil paintings, the oils sold for much more $, so did fewer pencils. CALLE even had PENCIL drawings on the cover of such magazines as TIME & Sat. Evening Post!!! 160 pages. 9 x 12 in. Pub. by Watson-Guptill back in 1974. 1st ed!! (Popular book, reprinted many times, so 1st is rare) Major works have sold in the SIX figures, even had a large pencil drawing sell at auction last year for over $36,000!!
