Description: This is a pair of vintage porcelain 9" ivory plates with a center motif resembling a cross-stitch embroidery floral design. There is a thin red line around the center, separating it from the ribbed, scalloped 1-1/4" border. The back of the pates have a lion and crown trademark that reads "Sovereign Canada, British Empire Made", and a gold oval marking that reads "Cross Stitch Ware, British Empire Ware". These plates were manufactured prior to 1967, when the company closed. The design of one plate is slightly lighter in color than the other. Both plates have light crazing, a few small, shallow fleabites and tiny manufacturing imperfections on the underside. Neither one has significant chips, cracks, or utensil scratches.
