Description: I am letting go of a bin of instruments that have been stored and unused for decades, and need good homes where they will be played. Here is a treasure from the trove, a pair of Japanese Bamboo Shakuhachi Flutes that I acquired back in 1975. I purchased the dark slender shakuhachi flute from an Oregon flutemaker, name forgotten but with his distinct inscribed artwork. It measures 20.75" long by 1" diameter. This is a good beginning shakuhachi since less controlled breathing is needed to play it. A few months later, I heard about a master shakuhachi maker in Hawaii and ordered one. This one measures 22" long x 1.5" diameter, and is much more difficult to play. I never had the breath control needed for this one. It is for an "advanced" player. Each flute comes with the original fitted slipcase, and fit into a custom case a woodworker friend made for them. Selling as a pair to any woodwind collectors out there. FREE SHIPPING INCLUDED!
