Description: An exceptional pair of barley twist form wooden Solomonic columns intertwined with hand carved polychrome cherubs, birds, serpents, and grapes, topped with impressive Corinthian carved capitals. Probably Italian, dating to the late 17th or early 18th century, in good overall condition, with some large shrinkage cracks, high point and paint losses, as well as other imperfections and overall wear from age and use. One column is looser on its base than the other. Dimensions: Each measures 75 ¼” h x 8” diameter, with a 13 ½” w x 13 ½” d top and 13” w x 13” d square base.
