Description: These lovely white ironstone bowls feature a large embossed leaf in the center with berries and strawberry leaves around the rim. They measure about 7.75" in diameter. The back of the bowls are marked "As originally produced by Davenport 1794-1887 Burleigh Staffordshire England" although one mark is very hard to read. From what I read online, Burleigh acquired Davenport in 1887. I think these were made before 1921, when "made in" was required to be added to imported goods in front of the country of origin. It looks like this pattern has been reproduced more recently but the marks are different. It is a beautiful pattern that stands the test of time. The price is for the pair.
