Description: Today we are pleased to offer for sale a beautiful pair of antique French Palais Royal scent bottles! This lovely set dates from the mid 19th century. The pair is very finely crafted and detailed. The bottles are done in the Victorian Etruscan Revival style and feature clear glass baluster-form bottles with thin necks, adorned with frosted bands interspersed with clear bands decorated with delicate Greek key border designs. The bottles feature fabulous silver-plated bronze mounts forming a six sided base with fitted Greek-key form handles and collar with hinged lid. The mounts are delicately etched with geometrical designs. These bottles are quite unique and the design is very unusual. The pair will make a great addition to any collection! The bottles present in good, antique, used condition, with some wear and patina commensurate with age. The silverplate fittings have some wear, tarnish/patina/darkening and scattered losses to finish; the lid in one bottle is attached but somewhat loose. The glass has some surface wear, patina, a few very tiny flakes but no major chips; the interiors of both bottles have old liquid residue and possibly some glass sickness, we have not attempted to clean the bottles. Sold in as-found condition. Please review all photos. Dimensions/ea: 7-1/4" in height, 4" in diameter (widest part)
