Description: A fine antique c.1840 Hudson River School landscape showing a panoramic view of Lake George in upstate New York. It is titled on the reverse and the panel is impressed with branded initials D. L. B. It also bears the name Mrs. J. H. Hayward, possibly the painter or owner of the painting. The work measures 16 x 21 1/2 inches and is painted on a single board artist's wood panel, beveled on two edges. There are a couple of dings and losses near the man in the rowboat and some hazed areas in the mountains, otherwise excellent original condition.
