An excellent multipage article in "Rocks and Minerals" magazine (Nov./Dec.2012) describes the entire discovery & mining operation. This beautiful matrix specimen has two small, but perfect azurite suns. The specimen is 5 by 3 by 3 cm with the larger "sun" discoid is about 3 cm in diameter. A transparent coating was applied by Dehne in order to protect against anymoisture infiltration. Azurite is seldom found as a discoid "sun" and is unique to this mine.
