Measuring an impressive 23 x 16.75 inches the later black wood frame measures 32.75 x 26.75 inches. Text is present low right on the matting that loosely translates to something about stars and shadows. This extremely rare albumen print shows the figure from the chest up wearing a suite and tie as he looks directly at the viewer. There is some hand embellishing of the figures details like to that of his eyelashes and mustache. The condition of this large format albumen print is very good for its age/medium showing expected minimal discoloration and toning. The matting and frame (later) show wear, age and a large scratch to the glass reaching across the center of the portrait, this is on the glass, not print.
