It is fully waterproof, with side zippers that go ALL THE WAY for maximum ventilation if you get to warm. It is also very light and packable. A jacket like this is a must-have for travel anywhere it may rain. I love this jacket, but I unfortunately no longer fit in it. I plan to buy a larger size before my next trip in rainy weather. I have this jacket for a few years, but is well cared for and in great condition. Note that this is the original Foray, not the Foray II. I believe the main difference is that the Foray has a two way zip, while the Foray II does not. A two-way zip is great for improving range of movement while having the jacket zipped up.
