Description: Our Lady of La Salette – 3 sizes – Catholic Art Print – Archival Quality – Catholic Gift "Our Lady of La Salette"Anonymous ArtistIn the French Alps, in an area called La Salette, in the middle of the 19th Century, on a very sunny afternoon around 3:00, two little shepherd children came across a beautiful lady. She was in a blazing light, sitting on a root, wearing glorious clothing. She had her face in her hands. She was weeping. The date was September 19, 1846. The children were Maximin Giraud, 11, and Mélanie Calvat, 15. She lady said she was weeping because of the sins of the people. Especially two sins: working on Sundays and swearing blasphemously using the name of her son. As sad as she was, she gave a message of hope. She told Mélanie the rule of a new religious order, the Order of the Mother of God, Apostles of the Last Times. Mary told her, among other things, "It is time for you to go out and come to light the Earth. Go and show yourselves as my dear children."This beautiful painting from the first part of the 20th Century gives us a hint of the emotion and the beauty and light of this Church-approved apparition of Mary, one of the major Marian apportions. The crown is as described by the children. The chains symbolize the slavery of sin that Mary tries to unburden us of. In a time where our culture has little regard for the Sabbath, and where it is utterly common for people to swear with the holy name of Jesus, it is good for us to come to Our Lady of La Salette and by her help become leaven and light for this weary world. There is much written about Mary's appearance at La Salette that you might want to research. She said some astounding things. (source: Wikiipedia.com)** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx!
