LED drivers are not laser drivers. LED's are tough as nails but laser diodes are much more sensitive and need extra features like soft start, overshoot protection and a very low noise output that are standard on laser drivers but not included on LED drivers to save cost since they are not necessary when driving a LED. I have seen a a few tutorials for building a "cheap laser" with this LED driver but it is a bad idea as I see it causing a lot of diode deaths and any build using it will have reduced life or even risk immediate damage to the laser diode. Also this LED driver and variants of it have been popular here and are causing a lot of damage. See this LED Driver Scope Test on it. Please do your homework or shoot me a message if confused by the many offerings of "cheap drivers" as risking an expensive diode to save on a bargain driver is just not worth it. If you do use a LED driver you do so at your own risk. Diode should be properly heatsinked and driven with a laser driver set to a no more than 1.8A.
