Description: This is a rare single page advertising handbill (flyer) promoting ticket sales for the one-week, Provincial Tour engagement of the OSCAR WILDE comedy "AN IDEAL HUSBAND" at the Opera House in Manchester, England beginning November 28th, 1966. (The Original West End production opened January 3rd, 1895 at London's Haymarket Theatre, transferred to the Criterion Theatre on April 13th, 1895 and closed two weeks later on April 27th, 1895. This revival opened December 16th, 1965 at London's Strand Theatre, moved on August 13th, 1966 to the Piccadilly Theatre and closed October 29th, 1966 to go on tour. Following this tour, the production returned to London's Garrick Theatre on December 13th, 1966 for an additional six weeks, closing January 21st, 1967.) ..... This single page, two-sided handbill measures 5 3/4" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, an excerpt from a London review, ticket prices and performance dates and times on the front and individual photos of the leading actors, a production photo and two additional excerpts from London reviews on the backside ..... CONDITION: With the exception of minor edge wear, this rare handbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
