Description: EXTREMELY RARE because it is an ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC patch from the US NAVY's USS MIDWAY (CV-41) 1988 deployment/cruise. This is a handmade/hand-made/hand-sewn patch (larger than normal squadron size) created for the "ROLL TEST" conducted on Oct. 8, 1988. It says "SHAKE-RATTLE-n-ROLL" (top), "THE RECORD BREAKING ROLL * USS MIDWAY * OCT. 8, 1988" (inside top), "THEY SAID SHE COULD DO NO MORE THAN 24' " (bottom), with the large letters "I SURVIVED" underneath the rolling aircraft carrier.This patch has "no" backing, a "cut black" border, has a "hand-sewn fully embroidered" background, does not have velcro on the back, no sew holes, and shows the dimensions in the photos...the ruler on the right is 6".This is from THE BEST NAVAL AVIATION PATCH COLLECTION I've ever seen, and comes from a retired US NAVY CAPTAIN's collection I just acquired, and hope to find this gem a good home.
