Description: Original WWII Kerr style M3 sling for the M1 Thompson in early war mustard color. These were also substitute standard slings for the P17 Enfield and M1903A3 Springfield. Sling is stamped MRT 11-52 AU. I'm not sure what AU stands for but the rest indicates that it received mildew resistant treatment in November 1952. This is not the production date. WWII examples such as this were unmarked, but were treated against mildew at a later date prior to being mothballed into storage.
