Description: Good condition flag of the Holland American Line which flew aboard the SS Volendam. Measures just larger than 7 x 12 feet in size. Comes with an inventory sheet from the Flag Heritage Foundation noting that it was donated by famed vexillologist and surgeon, Dr. Clarence Rungee as well a copy of a 1952 letter denoting its service. The SS Volendam was a passenger liner that was torpedoed by German submarines early in WWII, and then served as an allied troopship throughout the War. It was retired from service in 1951. The piece is vintage and therefore may show signs of age, wear, or patina. Terms: I do combine shipping on multiple items, within a week of each other (unless arranged otherwise in advance). Once you have finished buying, I will send a consolidated invoice reflecting one shipping price. Payment is due within 4 days of auction close, unless cleared with me prior to bidding/winning. At that time, an unpaid item case will automatically be opened. I sell hundreds of items a month, so I am often behind on leaving feedback. It will be left, but please be patient. Do not message me seeking feedback.
