At the beginning of the 1970s, it came under the Socialist Youth Union. It focused mainly on the travel segment of young people aged 15 to 30 and organized tours especially for groups of SSM members. Individuals could not participate in many tours, the reason could be fear of emigration. The target destinations were mainly Czechoslovakia and other countries of the socialist bloc (German Democratic Republic, Yugoslavia, Hungary, but also North Korea or Cuba). CKM also organized tours to various sporting events, including the Olympic Games or World Championships, and organized exchange stays and study practices. The winter offer consisted of weekly or weekend stays, for example in Sumava, Jeseniky, Beskydy or Low Tatras. But they also organized tours to the west - by 1979, 1,600 people had used this opportunity. There was great interest in the tours, long queues were often formed for attractive tours. The demand for accommodation often exceeded the accommodation possibilities. At the time, CKM was one of the few travel agencies that had the privilege of selling airline tickets. CKM branches were mainly in the regional cities of Czechoslovakia, but also in the Soviet Union. Until 1989, CKM was the only travel agency specializing in children and teenagers. Together with Cedok, these were the two largest travel agencies on the market at the time. Compared to the competitor Cedok, however, CKM tours were cheaper. After 1989, CKM was converted into a joint-stock company. Due to the bad economic situation, the brand was offered for purchase and in 1996 the unified CKM disappeared. Subsequently, several independently operating entities were established under the name CKM, for example in Prague, Pilsen, Olomouc or Ceske Budejovice (Wiki).
