Book contained selection of political works, especially with humorous and satiric content. Mikolas Ales (November 18, 1852, Mirotice – July 10, 1913, Prague) was a Czech painter, draftsman, decorator and illustrator, one of the most important personalities of the so-called National Theater generation, a classic of Czech art of the 19th century. In the early period, he created in a late romantic style, based on the legacy of Josef Manes, later moving more towards the Art Nouveau style (Wiki).
