The organization was founded in October 1945 as the Union of Czechoslovak Firefighters.On October 21, 1945, the Union of Czechoslovak Firefighters (SCsH) was established by government decree. After the events in February 1948, the union was included by order of the Ministry of the Interior in the organization of the so-called revived National Front.On March 15 and 16, 1952, a national conference of the union was held in Prague, which adopted a resolution to change its name to the Czechoslovak Fire Protection Association (CSPO) as of January 1, 1953.In 1948, the union had 14,300 fire brigades with 328,914 members throughout Czechoslovakia. In 1956, it had 549,177 members, of which 68,766 were women, and the number of firefighting units was 15,780 (Wiki).
