Description: ORIGINAL STUDIO ART CHARCOAL SKETCH STUDY CUBES, ROBERT KARSTEN, YORK, PA This listing is for a nicely detailed studio art charcoal sketch by artist Robert Karsten. THIS DATA IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES: Karsten was born April 27, 1943 in Glen Cove, NY, and lived in York, Pennsylvania. His works have appeared on covers of national magazines and in juried shows as well as in public & private collections. He studied at Maryland Institute College of Art and worked as a college art professor for 15 years (School of Art at Louisiana Tech Univ.) He painted works that included varied railroad related train scenes, construction sites with big rigs & heavy equipment, many local York scenes, portraits, landscapes, etc. His works included oil paintings, pastels, and watercolors. Robert Karsten tragically ended his life in 1996, despondent over the death of his mother. This piece is done on a brown sketch pad sheet, in very good condition with some storage edge wear on top (can be trimmed), see photos. The sketch features a study of 3 cubes, charcoal; signed on lower right R K. This piece measures approx. 24" BY 18". When item is packed SECURELY for shipping, it weighs 1 pound.
