Description: Original small antique map from 1885 of Straits of Messina between Sicily and Italy. The map measures approximately 7" x 5.75" (180 mm x 145 mm), including borders. Excellent condition for age. The map has been carefully extracted from a page of the unusable and dis-bound volume of the renowned Universal Geography by Elisee Reclus. No significant creasing, yellowing or foxing of the page although some ageing and wear is inevitable for an item nearly 140 years old. It has print on the reverse side, although this should not be visible if mounted and framed. If desired, the map can be scanned to produce a larger print for display purposes. Please note: this is an original map extracted from a book and is not a modern copy. Posting and Packaging: Carefully packaged in a boarded envelope and posted by Royal Mail.
