ITEM DESCRIPTION DescriptionUp for your consideration is a mid-19th C. woodblock by the renowned artist Kitagawa Utamaro (Japanese, 1753 - 1806). The piece bears Utamaro's signature in the middle left. The artwork depicts a mother and her children, one of them wearing a horned mask. It is housed in a silver gilt frame with a carved bamboo design, and has proper spacers to protect the woodblock from the glass. There are scuffs and surface wear to the frame, but overall, it presents reasonable well. The print has light wear and faint creases, light toning, consistent with age and the nature of hand made paper. SizeThe sight area measures 14" tall, and 9.5" wide.
