This is a section of the original White House iron fence that was removed in 2020 from the North lawn section on Pennsylvania avenue. The fencing along Pennsylvania avenue in front of the White House was first installed in 1883. In July of 2019, the National Parks service began construction on a new high security fence for the White House. Construction began with removing the original 1883 fence along Pennsylvania avenue. This section comes from the top portion of the fencing. I acquired this piece from a gentleman who had access to individuals working on the fence project. A certificate of authenticity is included with this sale. The section known as a "spearhead" measures 6 and 3/4 inches in height and approximately 3 in at its wides point.
