Description: Up for your consideration original Russian oil on canvas board painting made by Yury P. Kugach (Russian, 1917-2013). Signed on the back. Excellent condition consistent with age and use: with no losses or signs of ageing. Please, look at the pictures as they are part of the description. Yuri Petrovich Kugach, the founding member of the academically traditional Moscow River School, was born in Suzdal, Russia. In 1931-1936 studied art in at the 1905 Moscow Art School. Graduated from Moscow Art Institute (Surikov) where he studied under Grabar and Gerasimov. In 1948 - 1951 taught painting at this Institute. In 1972 Kugach was elected to Academy of Arts. Considered one of their Great Russian artists of the 20th century. Canvas board measuring 26” x 20”; Original frame: 31” x 25” I only ship to confirmed PayPal addresses.
